The Texas Rangers inaugural season was 1972 and they played their home games at Arlington Stadium, one of the hottest stadiums in the league with temperatures regularly rising above 100 degrees. The 1974 Rangers are the only team to ever have a winning season after 2 consecutive 100 loss seasons. In 1989 the Rangers added Nolan Ryan to their roster and despite being 41 he finished the year with 301 strikeouts. Ryan also threw no-hitters in 1990 and 1991.
