The 1960 World Series pitted the Pitttsburgh Pirates against the New York Yankees. The series came down to Game 7, and the Buccos walked it off on a homer by Bill Mazeroski, stunning the baseball world in the process. In 1971 Roberto Clemente led the Bucs to another championship over the Baltimore Orioles. 8 years later, Willie "Pops" Stargell was the leader in another World Series win against the Orioles. In the early 1990's the Pirates were led by Barry Bonds and Bobby Bonilla. In 2001, the Pirates opened PNC Park, one of the most beautiful parks in the Major Leagues.
