In 2001, the Seattle Mariners tied the Major League record for wins with 116. That was the year they added Japanese superstar Ichiro Suzuki who would go on to become a star in MLB as well. The Mariners came into the league in 1977 and since then have had their share of quality players with Hall of Fame caliber careers - Ken Griffey Jr., Randy Johnson, Edgar Martinez and Harold Reynolds. After starting out in the Kingdome the Mariners have been playing their home games in retro-modern Safeco Field since 1999.
