Curbside Delivery Via Truck
Items that are too large to be delivered via UPS or FedEx ground will be delivered Curbside via a Freight Truck. This service requires a scheduled delivery appointment and the customer must be present to inspect the item(s) for any damage and to sign for the delivery. It is the customer’s responsibility to remove the item(s) from the back of the truck. The driver is not required to help offload the merchandise, but may oblige if asked. The driver is not obligated to move the merchandise any further than curbside.
If the customer’s delivery location is not accessible via truck due to any obstacles they will be required to meet the truck at a nearby location and transport the item(s) to their delivery location. The freight company may offer a 3rd Party service with a smaller truck but the customer would be responsible for any additional fees. The customer will also be responsible for any additional services they may require, such as inside delivery, refusing to offload merchandise, rescheduling delivery or address change.
What to Do When Accepting Delivery
Once the item(s) are offloaded from the truck start inspecting the boxes for any visible signs of damage. If you notice any damages that appear to have damaged the product, have the driver make an annotation on the Bill of Lading prior to signing for it.
